Transponder security system
Although many keys do not have a remote integrated in the head of the key, it is a common misconception that their key has no transponder chip. Whether you have a remote or not, there may be a transponder chip which lives inside the head of your car key.
There are various types of transponder chips for each vehicles security systems. The transponder chip needs to be programmed and matched to your vehicle security system.
